Bicycle touring is the original Grasshopper style. We think getting out on a bike is one of the best ways to see a country in a slow personal way while still being able to travel reasonable distances. The great joy of this style of travel is that you can set your own pace, stopping for a photo or a chat when you feel like it. While we do visit the big ticket destinations on these tours, highlights always include the little out of the way places that most visitors never stop at a tiny village market, a local wedding or a village that barely makes it to a map but has a little guesthouse that we overnight in. Ayutthaya is flat with most well marked lanes for cyclists. A 10 km or 25 km ride will take you to all major sites in city or in outer areas respectively. Motorists are bike friendly. Many cycle rental shops aroind 50 baht a day. We rented ours next to ferry from railway station. Rent cycle after you cross river in ferry, not before near station, much easier.

I have visited the historic city of Ayuthaya which was once the capital of Thailand during my trip to Bangkok. I had visited this place for a full day sightseeing tour from Bangkok. I had purchased a combined ticket for 220 baht to visit the 5 main ancient temples dedicated to Lord Buddha - Wat Mahathat, Wat Ratchaburana, Wat Phra Sri Sanphet, Wat Phra Ram, Wat Chai watthanaram. I also visited the Chao Sam Phraya museum which has a very good collection of relics belonging to the Buddha. Apart from these, I also visited some of the other temples in Ayuthaya. It was an amazing experience visiting the heritage city.

Great place to visit lots of historical places, we got the train from BKK to Ayutthaya very cheap only 2hrs outside BKK, we stayed 2 nights at a hotel over the road from the train station, we hired 2 motorbikes to get us around all the historic temples again very cheap also lovely restaurants or I'd opt for the Thai street food🍲, great couple of days

It is an easy drive from Bangkok, so it is well worth a visit. It is an impressive park, - even I prefer Thailand's first capital which I enjoyed more than this one. But that is far from Bangkok.

This was on my bucket list of places to visit. I left Thailand as a child and didn’t know much about my own heritage. The place was an absolute amazing experience. Definitely a must see. I’ve always wanted to come here and so glad we did. The day was overcast but still was very hot. Very clean and adequate bathroom facility. Make sure you keep your loose change as you need to pay 10Baht to use toilet. Respectful dress code. No short shorts allowed by woman but can wear shorts or skirt that is knee length or longer. I had shorts on and asked cashier if I could get in due to dress code I was told to just pull my shorts down slightly. I’m thinking it’s because I’m Thai or maybe because my shorts aren’t short shorts and loose not tight why I could get in.

Always wanted to visit this place and finally got a chance. This historic city had its own charm with temple, ruins and palaces. Had a good day trip here from Bangkok on an organised tour. Would recommend a visit at least once to appreciate old Siam in its glory days.

The park is listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site as it comprises ruins of temples and palaces of the capital of the ancient Ayutthaya Kingdom. It was one of the most largest kingdoms in IndoChina history. We love the whole trip very much.

We took a tour that included the the historic sites and a nearby floating market. This market is not as "touristy" as the Damnoen Saduk market and very different. There are animals and fish you can feed by bottle. Elephants and a stable where you can ride horses. There is a show depicting historic events. The Market is on land, surrounded by water. There is a boat that takes you on an initial tour so you see where everything is.

For my opinionThis is the most beautiful bhuddhist temple in ayutthaya from ticket counter to temple entry gate I walked about 5 minutes on the west bank of chao praya river you can also rent a tradinional thai costumes to take photo(dressing like in the ancient time 0ver300years ago)
