FAQ

Do I need a visa to transit through Bangkok?

In the case of those flying into Don Mueang International Airport in Bangkok, an eVisa is required for transit for those who are flying with Thai Air Asia and Thai Air Asia X. For all others, you will not require a visa if your transit time is less than 12 hours.
Can I leave Bangkok airport during transit?

You can usually leave the airport but if your ticket doesn't specify a stopover in Bangkok (i.e you're in transit with a start and end point that doesn't include BKK) then you'll need to check back in at the airline desk and you'll also be hit with the Departure Tax of 700 Baht as it won't have been included in you
Is 4 hour transit time enough in Bangkok?

You dont have enough time. Baggage can take up to two hours, usually ever within 30 minutes. You need to allow yourself minimum 45 minutes check in. Thats a very risky speed imo.

Very large modern airport but some gates and destinations not well marked and life complicated by virus checks etc and slow security. Staff are helpful but do not always really understand what you are asking and similarly their answers can be curt and confusing. So if you are transferring keep asking as you can end up walking a long way and wasting a lot of time and ending up cross and late

It was straight forward to book with Bangkok Airport Transfer. They replied and confirmed quickly. We liked that a pre-payment was not necessary and used cash with the driver. The instructions to meet the driver was clear and it was easy to find him at the meeting point in the airport. Car was good quality and driver was very nice. Highly recommended.

I booked on line a transfer from Bangkok international airport to Pattaya. Their rate ws cheaper than other companies. I was told to head to a certain gate on arrival. When I arrived I found that there was a sign board with my name and was asked to wait for 15 minutes to prepare the car. The driver was polite and the car was clean and I had no problem in the journey to Pattaya which lasted around 1 hour and 45 minutes.

Family of 5 travelled to Koh Chang and Koh Mak. Transfer picked us up at Don Muang airport and drove us direct to our hotel on Koh Chang- just over 5000 thai baht- including tolls, ferry etc. We also returned from Koh Mak, were met at the pier and driven back to Bangkok- pretty flawless system as you pay upon arrival (not before) and Ian is fast and accommodating! I have traveled from Bangkok airport before and have gotten a taxi but there is always the fear of them scamming you and not using the meter or leaving you in the wrong place. This time I got the public bus which was 50 Thai BAHT which I got front he departure gate 6 and there is 4 different routes. I got the A4 bus which stops at Khao San road. Which was very convenient as my guesthouse was a 5 min walk from there. The bus only took 40 mins to get into the city too.

Quite big airport & quite empty. Well organized, nicely decorated with greenery. They offer free airport WiFi for 2 hrs. Toilets located every 50-100 meters, which is very convenient, also many separate duty free shops & buggy transportation by request.

We had booked our transfer weeks in advance and had a booking confirmation and yet the driver never showed up, no one answered the office phone so at great inconvenience we had to find other transport at the last minute. This put us 2 hours late in our schedule. Very poor "service" and I would not recommend them at all.

I've been using Bangkok Airport Transfer for a number of years and have never been let down. I've used the transfer service in cars and mini-vans without a hitch. Great service that offers peace of mind. The drivers are sensible on the road, unlike the game of Russian Roulette you can play by using a metered taxi. Only one occasion where I had difficulty meeting the rep at Suvarnabhumi Airport, but a phone call soon sorted it out. Will continue to use and recommend to all.
