- In morning be picked up from the hotel. Visit the Golden Buddha Temple (Wat Trimit) which houses the world's largest gold Buddha image, now more than 700 years old, and a valuable treasure of Thailand and Buddhism.

- Next you will visit Wat Pho Wat Phra Chetuphon (locally known as Wat Pho) which is famed for the massive ‘Reclining Buddha’ it houses. At 46m long and 15m high, the gold-plated Buddha image depicts the Buddha’s passing into Nirvana. A highly ornate spectacle - it’s genuinely worth seeing. The Buddha eyes and feet are decorated with mother-of-pearl and carvings in the feet depict the ‘108’ characteristics of Buddha.

- You will also visit the Marble temple Wat Benchamabophit, once the most modern work of Thai religious architecture. This temple is very famous for its main chapel built in white Italian marble.

- Next visit The Grand Palace (Wat Phra Kaew). The palace is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Thailand. In the north of the royal residence and linked by a connecting gateway lies the royal monastery of the Emerald Buddha. The Emerald Buddha is a face carved from a block of green jade and was first discovered in 1437 in a stupa in Chiang Rai. At that time the image was covered with plaster and thought to be an ordinary Buddha image.

How do you get to benchamabophit?

From Pullman Bangkok Grande Sukhumvit, you can reach Wat Benchamabophit by taking BTS Sky Train from Asok station to Phaya Thai station, and connect with a taxi directly to the temple which is about 2.5 kilometres away.
Is there a dress code for Wat Pho?

The dress code at Wat Pho is not enforced quite as strictly as it is at the neighboring Wat Phra Kaew temple, but it is still something you should consider before going. “Traditional or polite dress is required, while shorts above the knees are prohibited for women,” according to the official Wat Pho website.
How much does Wat Pho cost?

The Wat Pho Entrance fee is 100 baht. The temple itself does not charge anything extra. But for a Thai massage for one hour, it costs around 480 baht. The Wat Arun entry fee is also 100 baht and the ferry ride to Wat Arun from Wat Pho costs 3 baht.

We went to Bangkok for a one day trip and we’re happy we had guide. guide was enthusiastic and fun, just what we needed for a one day trip. She made Thailand feel more personal as she shared with us everything about the temples. She knew a lot about Thailand and spoke good English. Our trip would not have been as meaningful without our guide. Regardless of the busy Bangkok streets out driver Tom always was ready and available to pick us up and bring us to the next location. It was a good experience.

After the lockdown, this is the perfect time to revisit this temple, Wat Benchamabophit better known by the farangs as Marble Temple. I visited it this morning and was alone apart from monks chanting prayers! What an experience! This is one of the top temples to visit in Bangkok.

Out of all the temples we saw this one was by far our favorite! The architecture does not disapoint. It is a medium sized temple but there is so much to see and take in, you can easily spend a couple of hours here. shoulders and knees must be coverd. We went at 3pm and there was beraly anyone in the temple, which is nice because you can take lots of pictures with out people photo bombing them.

Just had my 4-hour-long, private tour of the Grand Palace, the Emerald Buddha and Wat Pho (The Reclining Buddha) with Peter from Tour East. He and the tour company’s driver picked me up from my hostel in Phaya Thai just before 8am. I booked and paid for the tour (normally for 2 people) on Expedia, but I had to pay a 2000 THB supplement to Peter as the tour was for one person only.

Do not waste your money on this tourist trap. The morning of our tour started out well with an on time pick up at 8 am. We were driven to three temples but all were rushed. Our guide was very knowledgeable but annoyed if we had questions or wanted to stop and read something. We spent about 15 minutes in each place and found that the reason we were rushed was to make more time for a tourist shopping trap. By 9:45 am, the “tour” was complete, but we were lead to two different “recommended” shopping places by our tour guide. We were first made to enter a tailor shop and pushed into buying clothing. When we politely declined we were asked to consider more options. After that, we were taken to a gem factory and made to sit through a presentation followed by being lead through their store. Another guide from the same tour company rolled his eyes at us for not buying anything.

Had already seen Wat Po and wanted to eat dim sum in China Town instead. I have already booked many tours with Getyourguide and was (almost) always satisfied, but we simply never experienced anything like this. Something like this from unmotivated our guide, plus poor English ... hardly willing to provide information, during the meal she had only texted ... she work in tourism anymore. This temple was unlike any others we visited as it is based on a western church, in the style of a cross and with stained glass windows. The Buddha is made from brass. The temple is small but unique.
