CALYPSO - since 1988 on 364 days a year, two shows a day. Each show an audience of Korean, Chinese, Japanese, Malay, Indonesian, European, American nationalities. Different languages, religions, traditions, attitudes, mentalities at CALYPSO. An impact, at times a clash of cultural weight is unavoidable. CALYPSO's female performers are transgender people, born as boys, morphed by their genuine need to live as a female, to look like a woman.

How to Reach Bangkok?

By Flight

To reach for the city of Bangkok there are two main airports, one running in the North and another from the East of Bangkok. It is the Suvarnabhumi Airport that locates itself 25 km to the east and the Don Muang Airport located 24 km to the north catering to domestic and international flights in abundance.

Suvarnabhumi airport has direct and easy connectivity to the city by taxis, buses, and Airport Rail Link that is a high-speed train service in downtown Bangkok. There will be round the clock availability of roadway services from outside both the airports to drop you to your final destination.

By Road

The roadway services offer you with buses and taxis that get you wherever you wish to be in Bangkok. There are three bus terminals considered to be the major ones, the Northern Bus Terminal- Mochit, the Eastern Bus Terminal-Ekkamai, and the Southern Bus Terminal-Sa Tai.

The buses will take you not just round the city but also to Pattaya, Krabi, Phuket, etc. cities neighbouring Bangkok. If looking out for taxi services, then do know that the taxis run according to the metered price so confirm the prices before the journey.

By Train

Bangkok has great rail connectivity throughout Thailand and also to other neighbouring countries. Hua Lamphong serves as the main railway station of the city to travel to neighbouring countries and many other parts of Thailand. What can I say? It is told to be a must when in Bangkok! I would say it is just a tick of the list but if you are tight for time or money leave it off your vin list. Poor acting dancing and lip sinking so not a great show. The cast vary from beautiful to really ugly sorry to say

This was supposed to be a highly rated show but I didn’t think so. I was expecting them to actually be singing but no. And even with lip singing, they were off. I have seen ladyboy shows in other parts of Asia where they actually sing and dance so I have a standard. I could have used the time on this instead to walk around Asiatique and just enjoy the mall. So many other things to do in Bangkok... do those instead.

I was expecting a cabaret show - a compare who was quite funny & a variety of acts. What we got was a dozen random songs from Rihanna to Japanese songs that were mimed to with substandard group dancing. A total waste of money.

This was an awful show - a waste of £30. The entertainers chose a random range of songs from different countries and types of music, jumping from one to another for example Elvis to traditional Korean songs - no links, or build up between songs. The dancers were unenthusiastic and the choreography was very basic and poor. None of the singers knew the lyrics and so the lip syncing was horrendous. The complimentary drinks were flat and tasted off but served in a timely manner. Venue was nice although staging was not great.

Dinner first at Well Done and then to the Calypso Theater performance. We could have arrived early and had set menu dinner at the theater. We ate at one of the local restaurants instead. We did enjoy the performance and had an opportunity to meet the caste after the show.

Four of us decided to go to see the show as we had heard so much about it. We were not dissapointed as the show was brilliant. The music ,singing and dancing were superb.The whole show was very entertaining and well worth the money. After the show you can get your photo taken with some of the cast with your own phone. You just have to give them a few bhatt whichgives you something to look back on.

With a tour group we enjoyed a fabulous meal here with Thai dancers entertaining us and kindly posing for photos with us.The staff were very friendly and helpful. We did not see the show but saw the artistes pose for photos with the audience when the show was finished. The place is in amongst a huge market which was also great to walk around

We paid just for the ticket to see the show without a meal, and we were glad we came here. The show itself is very cheesy not nonetheless we really enjoyed it! If anything it’s a good laugh and the lady boys give it everything they’ve got. All in all a great 1 hour spent!

The Lady Boys are amazing, so glamorous and glittery. Yes, it's a Vegas style show, with lip syncing. But the campiness of it all makes it very worthwhile.

This is a decent show and well organized and the artists (Lady Boys are prettier than |Girls perhaps) are talented and wear lovely costumes...Can visit with children also because there is no nudity. The one thing that we did not like was the waiter serving our table who was very rude and did not care to take drinks orders in spite of repeated calls. They should not hire useless guys like that for a service job.
